Document Properties - Description Info: PDF Viewer?

Post by Peter2 »

As written above - under "Document Properties - Description Info" there is a line "PDF Viewer: <Unknown>".

I'm curious about it: What is it good for? Where does it comes from?

Regards

Hello Peter,

If you make modifications to an existing PDF file using our Viewer - the version of our Viewer used would be shown in that field.
This is not required by the PDF specification, so other PDF Creation/modification programs will not include such info in the files they work with, but will also not have any issues with working with files we have modified in this way.

This field we are using for debugging purposes, as we could see if the file that we receive in a report was modified with the latest build (so we could dig up for a problem) or with an older one and the problem is already fixed.

Best,
Stefan
