Color Bookmarks in the bookmark side window

hi @ all
i have 2 questions
1. can I color the bookmarks in the bookmark side window in different colors.

EXAMPLE:

Header 1
Sub Header 11
Sub Header 12
Sub Header 13
Sub Header 12
Sub Header 13
Header 2
Sub Header 21
Sub Header 22
Sub Header 23
Sub Header 22
Sub Header 23

I havent found any answer in the forum nor in the manual.

2. I make content in word. I know its not automatically click-able in my used version(PDF-xChange Light).
Is there a chance to do this in PDF itself.

Hi HellsBells,

if you select a book mark in the Bookmark pane (CTRL+B) the "Edit" button above it will become active which opens the "Bookmark Properties" dialogue. Here you can change the colour of the bookmarks as well font, size and style. You can also define the action.



Regards making clickable links you can do this in the Viewer using the LInk tools page 161 of the manual.

- the bookmark issue is solved . that works fine ... thanks
- the color change issue is still open... after I go to the edit menu the bar for the color changing is grayed out ... does this have something to do with the version I use ( xChange lite latest version) or the preferences "Accessibility Option/Document Color Options/Override Document Colors" (does it have to be ticked ???)

another question that hit me is .... Do I have to renew the bookmarks and the content in the PDF file all the time i make some changes at the word ??? which option do i have to use while I re-save it to the PDF file ( I use xChange lite latest version)

Hello Dieter,

Please check whether the document is security protected - as if it is you might not be allowed to modify it in any way - including changing the colour of a bookmark.

dear Stefan,
No its not secured, because its my own word document... it must have something to do with the my preferences or it could be the version of ms word 2003 I use ... I will stay tune and investigate further ... please let me know if u got any other ideas and thank u so much for ur excellent help

i got it .......... I reset the program to its default ........ and there we go......... I can edit the bookmarks now.... i think it had something to do with the previous version FREE I used......... never mind I am happy now that I solved it.... thank so much again for ur effort to help me ........... this program and the support is awesome .... never ever had any excellent experience like this before..... thanks again

I don't think it is related to the Free/licensed issue but the settings as you mentioned.

k.......... i got spare time today and i made some further investigations about the above mentioned behavior of the xLite Version

- the splash screen of the program still says i use the free version of PDF xchange
instead of i use xLite Version

- if i tick in the preferences/categories/registration parameters/ "hide restricted "pro" function in the free version I CANT change the appearance of the colors and content ... as soon as i untick the tag I can change the appearance of the colors and content.
- I have installed Open Office as well to tested.... the function of Xlite is working well with word and open Office.... BUT the behavior is in both test situations the same

I take as it is and an leave the hide restricted untagged... so everything working fine....

Thanks - now that clarifies the situation. The license you have is valid only for the PDF XChange Lite:

Please note that since build 194 Bookmark creation/modification is free, so please make sure that you have the current latest build of our Viewer (2.5.195) and you should not get the "DEMO" stamps added to your pages.
