Hi there!
I have some issues with PDF-XChange Viewer in IE9 64-bit with Windows 7 64-bit.
At some pages I don't get the choice "save as pdf", instead I get some strange characters as filename and cannot choose to use the PDF-XChange and save as PDF.
I have checked preferences and add-on in IE and also made sure that PDF-Xchange Viewer is the standard PDF-reader for IE and on the PC but still I cannot download some files as pdf, why is that?
Thank you in advance!
/Chris

Hello Chris,
Please have a look at this topic:
https://forum.pdf-xchange.com/ ... 39&t=11005
And see if the problem you are experiencing is not related.
As a solution - if you have our PDF XCHange Standard or Pro packages - they come with an IE plug-in which will allow you to convert the web pages to PDFs directly, so there will be no need to go through IE9's menu and "print" to PDF.
Best,
Stefan

Re: Can't download some pdf's + strange characters
Thanks Stefan,
it is almost the same issue but at the same time not. This button says ("print/save target as") but when I click at the button I only get strange characters and cannot save as pdf. I have this issue with other sites as well and not only one site.
So it is not an option for me to convert the whole site to pdf since I need the file save at my computer and not the website.
Regards
Chris

Hello Chris,
Could you please make a screenshot of the problematic menu, then archive it (e.g. to a zip file) and attach it to this forum so that we can check it?
Thanks,
Stefan

Hello again,
I tried to attach screenshots of the issue but I couldn't add anything to this post. Tried all different types of extensions but none were allowed, not even when I completely removed the extension.
How do I attach these screenshots?

Hello Chris,
You need to archive the images inside a .rar .zip or .7z file, and you should then have no problems attaching the archive directly.
Best,
Stefan

Hi again,
managed to attach the screenshots now in a rar-file.
It's all in swedish but the first screenshot, nr1, is the button I try to download the pdf thru, nr2 is the question I get with a lot of strange characters and nr3 is the window that gives me also a lot of strange characters but with no pdf-extension.
Regards

Re: Can't download some pdf's + strange characters
Hello Chris,
Thanks for the shots.
Looking at them it appears that the problem is with downloading and saving the file in general, and I do not think it has anything to do with our printing drivers or Viewer, as you are not trying to "print" the file, and to open it in our Viewer, you should first download it correctly.
Is this only happening from this website or from others as well?
If it is just this website - maybe you can try and contact the system administrators / web-masters and ask them to check those files.
Best,
Stefan
