I get an annoying boing sound everytime the viewer is opened in the new tab.
How can I turn this off?

Re: Boing sound when opening viewer
Hi itredler,
We've only had a couple reports of this so far and from what I understand it is related to Windows system sound settings as no sounds are associated or programmed into our viewer actions.
As we have not yet been able to recreate the behaviour in house, I've gone back to other forum users to see if they've found a Windows system setting to suppress the behaviour you've described and we will get back to you on this hopefully soon with possible solutions.
Best,
Chris

Re: Boing sound when opening viewer
FYI, I looked in the window sounds and cannot find a similar sound effect.

Hi itredler,
Can you let us know what version of windows you are running and whether it is 32 or 64 bit.
As well is this happening when you are running the viewer standalone, or viewing pdfs through the webbrowser plugin?
Thanks,
Chris

Re: Boing sound when opening viewer
This may be a browser setting. In Opera, Preferences, Notifications, one can set a sound to play on page load. Probably Firefox has a similar option.

Hi itredler,
I am not a FireFox user myself, but if you type in the address bar "about:config" without the quotes, you will see a list of all configuration settings for FF. Please do not make changes here unless you know what you are doing, as these could affect the whole FireFox stability and performance, but here you can check which values differ from their defaults, and maybe that will help you recognize why there is a strange sound when a new tab is opened.
Best,
Stefan
