Hi
Is it possible to copy and paste the text boxes or any other information we add to a pdf through PDF X-Change Viewer?
Thanks
Andrew

Re: Copy and Paste Text Boxes
If you place the cursor over the feature you would like to copy (Text box, line etc), then right click, the pop up menu gives you the copy option.
After that, right click again and the paste option shows.
It appears that if you click paste whilst viewing the page that you copied the feature from, it pastes directly on top of the feature you copied. You can then use the move option to place the pasted feature into the desired position.
If you paste into a new page, the feature is clearly seen as a new displayed item.

Re: Copy and Paste Text Boxes
Hello adavies and Chi Sin Wolf,
Chi Sin Wolf you are right the copy appears on the same place as the original so if you are on the same page it is hard to notice.
adavies we are working on implementing the paste to happen on the position where the mouse pointer is so it will be much more obvious that you have successfully copied an object in future builds.
Regards,
Stefan

That would be useful if you can, thanks. Word 2003 pastes over the copied object and can be confusing at first - especially if the pasting is supposed to be on a different page.

Re: Copy and Paste Text Boxes
There again, if you're trying to add headers or footers to a PDF using text objects, it is rather handy that it is pasted in the same position on the page that it was copied from. Maybe retain that behaviour for Control V.

This is a good point.Bhikkhu Pesala wrote:There again, if you're trying to add headers or footers to a PDF using text objects, it is rather handy that it is pasted in the same position on the page that it was copied from. Maybe retain that behaviour for Control V.
Maybe there could be two options on the pop up menu. Something like "Paste at cursor position" and "Paste to match source position".

Re: Copy and Paste Text Boxes
We will all have to wait and see the exact implementation but something like this might be suitable for everyone:
Ctrl + V will preserve the location on the page, and right clicking and selecting paste with the mouse will paste it at the pointer.
We will certainly include it in the manuals and notify you here in the forum of the actual implementation - once it's done.
Cheers,
Stefan

Hi, is it possible to copy and paste text boxes (not from the typewriter, the form style text boxes) while maintaining all their internal formatting, transparent border and transparent shading?
thanks for your help!

Re: Copy and Paste Text Boxes
If you mean simple text boxes then yes -simply right click on the box with the select tool in use and copy ... - then paste.
If you mean actual form fields text boxes - then not yet - this is a V3 feature and will be available then.

If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.
