Scan to PDF

Post by levirtg »

I just went from XP to Windows 7 and the PDF XChange 4 Pro doesn't give me the Select Scan Source option when I try to scan direct to PDF, it did with XP. It connects to the scanner and I can only scan one page per file.

Hello levirtg,

I presume that you are using a 64 bit version of Win 7, and that your scanner drivers are still 32 bit ones.
Then please have a look at this KB Article:
I have a problem with accessing my scanner interface from PDF Tools or PDF XChange Viewer on a 64 bit version of Windows

Best,
Stefan

Hello Stefan,

I have the Windows 7 64 bit scanner drivers installed from the HP website already.

Hi levirtg,

often times it comes down to the scanner driver capabilities. One way you could work around this is to use File --> New Document --> From Image File, hit the Import button and select the scanner as a source. Doing this you would scan a page, hit import again and again for each page and all pages will be added to the same PDF file.
