Hello, dear developers of PDF-Xchange,
I’d like to point out several problems I have experienced. I’m referring here to PDF-A files created from my own scannings (I haven’t checked those problems on other files).
1. When I copy a text to Microsoft Word, the format is not kept (for example, the italics) and there’s a paragraph break at the end of every line.
2. Also when I copy text to Microsoft Word, spaces become, quite often, double spaces.
3. In bookmarks, and in some cases, there’s a paragraph break in the middle, resulting in a bookmark consisting of two lines. In these cases, what Adobe interprets as a space, PDF-Xchange interprets it as a paragraph break.
Thank you for your help!

Re: Some issues concerning text format
Hi vivadavid,
thanks for the post here. We have seen this before, I have made a formal 'Feature Request' to our development team to address this. RT#1146: Feature Request: Copy/paste text with formatting
This is not a promise to deliver said feature but it is a committment to looking into it.
Regards the paragraph/bookmark issue - I'm not sure I entirely understand your question/point. Is this evident when copying text or when copying bookmarks or just in general? Can you provide more detail - perhaps with an example - I see that you attached a file that has paragraphs in it but I'm afraid it's not clear to me what you want done with that.
regards

Re: Some issues concerning text format
Hello, Paul,
Thank you for your answer. I suppose you're asking me about the third item of my list. What I mean is that in PDF-Xchange, in some cases, the name of the bookmark doesn't appear on one line, as you can see on the screen captures I've attached here (from my PDF file). If you copy the name of the bookmark and paste it in Word, you'll see there's a paragraph break. There shouldn't be any paragraph breaks in bookmarks unless you select text from two different paragraphs and, with that, you create a bookmark. In other words: there shouldn't be any paragraph breaks in the bookmark unless there's a paragraph break in the text it is based on.
Regarding the formatting issues, I really hope they can be dealt with soon, as in my opinion, they are revelant.
Thanks again,
David

Re: Some issues concerning text format
Hi David,
I see now what you mean about the bookmark with the extra line feed. At least that's what it looks like to me. I've asked my dev team to look at that specifically.
Regards the other 2 bookmark copy items the team have said they can do this for v3 - sometime after the initial release.

Re: Some issues concerning text format
Thank you so much, Paul!! Though points 1 and 2 of my initial message don't refer to bookmarks but to text from the PDF, from any given paragraph.

Hi David,
right - I got that about the text copy/paste. I'll update here when I hear what the deal is with that bookmark.
