Hi,
It seems that when using the typewriter function to enter text into the "typewriter" field the text disappears when I move out of that field. I can then go back to the typewriter field that I typed and click on it and the text will reappear, but as soon as I leave the box by clicking elsewhere on the page, the text disappears. This happens on any document, even a new one created by me with no security restrictions on it. This feature used to work fine but now it does not. I'm using Windows 7 OS.
Any ideas on how to correct this?
Thanks,
Typewriter text disappears

Hi Mrgan,
that's a strange set of symptoms. Can you identify what happened or change don your system around the time this started happening?
Are you running the latest build? http://www.docu-track.com/knowledgebase ... nt-version

No, not really. It's been awhile since i've used this feature. Nothing has changed or been changed on the system that I can think of. If I used the typewriter feature (which is what I was looking for when I discovered PDF EX) more often I might be able to provide some info about this.Paul - Tracker Supp wrote:Hi Mrgan,

Yes, after my first post I checked and updated to the current version with no improvement. I then rebooted and also moved the document to the other monitor screen. The problem persists.
I wonder if it would help to completely remove the program then reinstall, instead of the upgrade that I did. I know the upgrade saved all of my settings, so maybe it saved something else too. If I could remove everything somehow and reinstall, that might do something?

Re: Typewriter text disappears
Thanks for that. I wonder if it is specific to your installation or the documents. Perhaps you can send a sample where the typewriter text is disappearing and I'll see what I can find out.

Re: Typewriter text disappears
OK, I compressed 2 files using Windows 7 compression tool but I can't get them to attach. I browse to the zipped file and click the Add The File button but nothing seems to happen. I tried sending the unzipped version and it did the same thing. Am I missing something? Can I PM or email the files?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Typewriter text disappears
I think the two files uploaded. If they did you should see a red text box on each explaining where to find the "Typewriter" sample on each page, that is if you can't just see them!
(I think it didn't upload first time because I tried to zip the two files together. This time I zipped each one separately. It got stuck on that first download and never got to the others.

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: Typewriter text disappears
Thanks for that Morgan,
the issue is with the 'Blend Mode' used for these comments. If you select one of these comments so that you can read the text - look at the 'Properties Toolbar', there is an tool to change the 'Blend Mode'.

In your samples the blend mode was set to 'Overlay' - changing that to 'Normal' will have the comments visible.

Re: Typewriter text disappears
OK, Paul, that did it! I must have changed it by accident or something.
I also went to the Advanced settings and set the Normal Blend Mode as default. That should do it until someone messes it up again.
Thanks for your quick response on this. I really missed the "typewriter" for filling out forms etc...
