Stopping a PDF from being fillable online

Post by PDF_wolf »

Here's one people have never heard requested :)

My wife's work hired somebody a few years ago to create some application forms in PDF format which can be filled in online.

They've now decided they prefer the PDF to *not* be fillable online, ie. they want it to just open like a normal PDF on the screen so person has to download/print/post or email back.

I thought this would be easy to do in good old PDF-XChange Viewer but so far I'm stumped.

Any suggestions?

thanks!

Hello PDF_wolf,

This is a strange request indeed, but you can "reprint" this form through e.g. our PDF XChange Standard printing drivers and all form information will be lost.

Please note that someone using e.g. our Free PDF XChange Viewer, could still "fill" the form using the typewriter tool, so you will not be able to "force" everyone to print and mail this to you, but it will still have the desired effect in most cases.

Best,
Stefan
