Assume I have a pdf which contains colored/grey/black-white pictures.
How can I compress these embedded pictures with Pro version?

Re: How to compress embedded pictures in PRO version?
Hi Matt,
This can be accomplished by sending the PDF to the PDF-XChange Printer, in the Driver Graphics settings you can specify compression options of your PDFs images.
The settings can be found by right-clicking the PDF-XChange Printer and choosing Printing Preferences from the menu. Click the Graphics tab to see these settings I've mentioned.
One issue that does exist with sending pdf files back through the driver is embedded font information, so as well goto the fonts settings and ensure that the fonts are being fully embedded into the resulting document.
If you have further questions, please do get back to us.
best,
Chris

If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.

Ok, thank you.Chris - Tracker Supp wrote: This can be accomplished by sending the PDF to the PDF-XChange Printer, in the Driver Graphics settings you can specify compression options of your PDFs images.
Just to clarify what you mean:
I have to print an already printed pdf doc a second time. Is that correct?
There is really no built-in PDF-XChange-Viewer in-place compression?
Maybe this feature could be added in the next release?
What if I have tot installed the PDF-XChange-printer driver but use another pdf printer driver (which is stipulated by the admin of the network/company)?

Re: How to compress embedded pictures in PRO version?
Hello Matt,
Yes at this moment "reprinting" is the only way. We are working on image manipulation tools for the next version of the Viewer, and as such compressing might be an option, but I can't confirm/deny it at this time.
If your other printing driver had image compression settings - then certainly - you can print through that, and the images should be re-sampled accordingly.
Best,
Stefan
