Displaying page numbers - How?

this questions seems so stupid, but I can't figure it out

How can you display page numbers in the viewer?

Hello Jamie,

If the PDF pages already contain page numbers - the Viewer will show them.
If there aren't such numbers - I am afraid that the Viewer alone is not able to show/create such, but you could use the page re/numbering feature in our PDF Tools for that:

To be honest: I did not expect that this feature is missing, I though that I'm just too stupid.

Maybe something for the roadmap/wishlist?

It is already on the radar, but when it will be added I can not tell at this point.

Sorry to interrupt... On this very subject, I'd like to know how to switch from absolute page number display (1,2,3,...) to relative (or logical?) page number display (Cover, i, ii, iii, 1, 2, 3,...) found in books. The PDF contains such numbering but the Pages Layout Toolbar displays absolute. I read the Viewer manual about preferences and navigation but couldn't find anything about this. Could you guide me where to look for this information? Thanks in advance for your time. (Win7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1)

Hi cdld,

I believe roman numeral page numbering will be supported in ver3 of the Viewer scheduled for release this fall. I will check in with our development team on this and get back to you, as well I will check on the "cover" designation but do not think that will be supported.

I'll get back to you with my findings shortly.
