PDF XChange Viewer 2.5 built 190.0 on XP SP3.
I often print from Xchange Viewer through PDFcreator in order to make smaller PDF files. Yesterday the PDFcreator software was updated from 1.2.0 to 1.2.3 and now printing from Xchange Viewer to it is very slow, and even for /screen the files created are quite large. Details posted here:
http://www.pdfforge.org/forum/help/7646 ... long-files
The thing is, printing to PDFcreator from PPT seems to be as fast as ever, and the files created are small.
The upgrade to 1.2.3 destroyed PDFcreator's "printers", and I had to set them up again. So they may be slightly different than they were before.
Any thoughts on why Xchange viewer now prints so slowly to the PDFCreator "printer", but other applications seem to be unaffected? I did not modify the Xchange viewer in any way.
Thanks.
Slow printing to PDFcreator 1.2.3, was fast to 1.2.0

Hi mathog,
I'm not ware of any change in the Viewer that would account for this. I will check with my dev team to confirm. One thing to note - if you have a license for the Viewer then you also have the rights to use the PDF-XChange 4 Lite print driver. We would be able to support issues regards that if you want to try using that rather than PDFCreator.

In the meanwhile I'll check into the question you asked.

Maybe also it is good idea to ask authors of PDFcreator what they changed?

I did post a query in their forums, but there was no response.Ivan - Tracker Software wrote:Maybe also it is good idea to ask authors of PDFcreator what they changed?

Hi mathog,
I'm not sure what we can do without knowing what they changed, if indeed anything. Do you see a similar thing when printing from other applications to that driver? What happens if you print the same PDF form Adobe Reader for example?
