Hi, I am using the viewer to fill saved scanned PDF forms.
Best way I found is to add 'typewriter' fields (empty or with default value) to the form in every position text should be insert and saving the form for future use. then using TAB key to tab through the fields, selecting the content with ENTER (Merci to the French teacher), changing the content and saving or printing the filled form.
My suggestion is if the field content (text) is selected then pressing TAB will select the content of the next field and not the field itself. if the field (not the text) is selected then using TAB will select next field (like the current behavior).
Thanks in advance,
Avishay

Re: Scanned PDF forms filling
Hi adichy
as I understand it the tab order is specified in the form not by the Viewer. Can you send a sample form that you have made? Be sure to wrap it in a zip archive so the forum software does not remove it. Once I have that I'll get confirmation from my development team if this is something we can set independently of the form itself.

Re: Scanned PDF forms filling
Hi Paul.
Please find attached a sample form.
The tab order is another issue. when I create the form I add the typewriter fields in the specific order I want to use. If I want to change the order later for any reason its not easy.
Thanks,
Avishay

Re: Scanned PDF forms filling
Hi adichy,
OK - I see that the 'form' has a tab order and that tab moves you through the items. I think the problem, if I understand you correctly is that you want this to be a PDF form. You might find it better to build a PDF form that is fillable. There are 2 ways you can do that with ourr software:
1. Use Office 2003 Web Forms. This is no longer being developed as Microsoft removed WebForms from Word in the 2007 release and this broke our Addin's ability to create basic fillable forms. If you have access to Word 2003 however you could still do this.
2. Use a forms building application. We are adding to the Viewer in V3 the ability to make simple changes to fillable forms so you may be able to copy and rename form fields into your document. Further, we are planning a more robust Form Builder application for after the release of V3 in the late Autumn.
maybe I missed the point of what you want here, if so please let me know.
