When I look on almost all web pages with Firefox or InternetExplorer (in Win7) then the text there appears sharp.
Font Size is e.g. 0.75em or 12px
Then I print these web pages with one of several pdf printer tools.
Afterwards I have a look with Pdf XChanger-Viewer (pro).
But unfortunately the font/text looks now fuzzy/blurred (even it appears bigger than in the original web page!!).
Is there a way or option to sharpen the appearance of text inside the pdf viewer?
Matt

Hello Matt,
A sample file (and a link to the site you tested) would be most helpful, but I presume that the web content is being rasterized - and that's why it appears blurry when Viewer inside the PDF. I would be able to tell more when I see your sample, but in the mean time may I also recommend you to try our PDF XChange Standard, and it's IE add-in:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/product ... e-standard
Which will allow you to convert web pages with much more options and details than a simple File-> Print.
Best,
Stefan

Ok. I give two examples (see attachment) which show clearly the blurry text fontTracker Supp-Stefan wrote:Hello Matt,

Re: How to sharpen font/text? Worse than original web page
Hello Matt,
When you first described your problem I thought that there is some rasterisation of text occurring, and that's why I asked for samples. Now looking at your samples - I see that the text inside them is properly converted, and the "problem" is that indeed we are using different text rendering than your browser. Web pages are generally created with fonts that appear and feel nice on screen, but a PDF document could have much more sophisticated fonts - which if rendered sharply will loose their unique characteristics - so we need to use different rendering techniques than web browsers. This rendering technique results in softer and better looking - in some cases of course - results, but also sometimes it looks blurrier in our Viewer (e.g. when comparing how a "rectangular" font like Tahoma is rendered I have to agree that a browser manages that better).
There have been some lengthy disscussions about the rendering techniques we use here in this forum, and I can tell you that we are working on some significant changes in this aspect for ver3 of our Viewer. In them mean time - please check the attached image which shows the same file with the same zoom level in both our Viewer and Adobe's latest reader - there is some "blurring" in both compared with the website look.
Best,
Stefan

Ok, thank you for reply.
I like Xchange Viewer much more than Adobe Acrobat. But this worse rendering is really annoying.
So please find a solution in next release.

Re: How to sharpen font/text? Worse than original web page
Hello Peter,
As I said before, I wouldn't consider this "worse" but rather - different rendering. Yes it doesn't work ideally with small fonts, and that's why we are working on much different rendering for ver3, and with some more control over the rendering sharpness/blurriness via settings in the Viewer Preferences.
Let's see what ver3 will bring and we can continue this discussion then.
Best,
Stefan
