Hi,
It seems that I cannot select or highlight text across a page break. Am I doing something wrong? Is there some way to do this? Acrobat seems to have no problems doing this.
I am highlighting for the purpose of extracting my highlights as a summary of the text, so cutting the selection in half is not really a useful solution.
Thanks for your help

Hello BigHairyMan,
I am pretty sure that all annotations and text selection operations you could currently do in our Viewer are limited to a single page, but I will now check with our devs if this is going to change in ver3 of our Viewer which is upcoming:

Re: Selecting/Highlighting text across a page break
I have no problem at all selecting and highlighting text across a page break. Its a bit easier if you use the continuous page view, but its still possible in single page view. Just start selecting with the text selection tool, and scroll with the mouse wheel or by dragging. Then apply the highlight to the selected text.
Still, its rather odd that the highlight, underline, or strikeout tools won't select continuously like the text selection tool.

Nice work around Bhikkhu,
we'll post here on how V3 is planned to handle this once the devs have been consulted...

Thanks Bikkhu that works. As you say strange the comment tools can't do the same thing.

Hi All,
I am awaiting a reply from the dev guys with comments on the differences between the various tools, and we will post here as soon as we have any further news.
Best,
Stefan

Re: Selecting/Highlighting text across a page break
Hi All,
I spoke with one of our developers, and just as he pointed our to me - the text selection and highlighting options in our Viewer and Adobe's reader are quite similar.
1. Acrobat cannot highlight text using the highlight tool across the pages - our viewer can't either.
2. Acrobat can highlight text across pages BUT to achieve this one should select text with the text-selection tool on both pages first and then - press the button for the higlight-text tool... - our viewer does the same.
As for the other tools - you can also use them (e.g. the Text Underline) after you have selected the text with the proper text-selection tool.
Best,
Stefan
