Help! I activated the add rectangle function and can't get rid of it. How do I cancel?

Hi Mygalomorph,

it should be as simple as selecting another tool. Try clicking the 'Select' tool and you should find the Rectangle Tool o longer selected.

Do note that if you have the 'Properties Toolbar' open it will change depending on the tool slected. One of the options there is to 'Keep Tool Selected' - toggling this will, as the name suggests, either keep the currentl tool selected or not.

Does that help?
Best regards

Thanks Paul. What I'm talking about is when I use the typewriter tool there's always a red box around the text, which is the default mode. The first time I used it there was just text, and the example in the manual shows text only. How do I customize?

HI again Mygalomorph,

take a look at this article, it relates to all text based comment tools. http://www.docu-track.com/knowledgebase ... -box-tools

while the article focuses specifically on changing the text it does describe how to access the properties of the container for that text.

In a nutshell the text based comments like Typewriter, Text Box, Callout etc have 2 levels of attributes, the container where you can changes border size, colour etc and the text itself where you can specify the font style.

If you make sure the 'Properties Toolbar' is visible (CTRL+E) then single click a Typewriter comment you will see properties for the border on the properties tool bar and a double click selects the text and the Properties Toolbar changes to font properties accordingly.

Check out the article and give it a try and let me know if you need further help.

regards
