Set viewer to open all files in full screen by default?

Post by bob_sun »

Hi,

I would like to ask question on page display.

The viewer is open by default with menu bar displayed. Is it possible to configure it so that each new
file (with separate viewer instances) is opened in full screen mode by default?

I didn’t find such an option in “Page Display”. Although some PDF files can be set in the file itself to force or inform any PDF viewer (XChange, Adobe, etc.) to open it in full screen mode as default, this however has to be set for each PDF individually and then save the file.

How can this be done at the viewer level so that it universally opens all .PDF files in full screen mode?

Hello Bob,

There is no such option, and one of the reasons is security - if someone double clicks a file - and it opens in full screen mode and without any menus - he can be "lured" to believe that this is a different application - and provide sensitive information thinking he is e.g. logging in his bank account - hence the warning that's also displayed when there is a script in a file that tries to put it in full screen mode.

So the only option is to set this on the "PerFile" level.

Best,
Stefan
