Improperly rendered text

Post by mark@greenbergcm.com »

Just downloaded (to try) ver 2.5 build 200.0, PDF Xchange view (free) based upon LifeHacker's recommendation.

I typed '===', they appear as such when viewing. However, the printed copy displays same as vertical rectangles.

I typed text into a the red box with associated arrow. Again the text appears correctly when viewing but is a series of different width vertical rectangles when printed.

Is this result caused by something I'm doing or is it a failure of the software?

The problem is the first page. I do not know how, if possible, to only send 1 of the 4 pages.

Hi Mark,
That will not really help, but:
I just 'printed' your file by using an alternative pdf-printer, and that looks fine here.
I attach that file.
The print preview of my canaon printer shows well too.
I do not know how, if possible, to only send 1 of the 4 pages
To delete a page is not possible with the free version but with the pro.

Thanks--I printed the page using Acrobat and the page printed perfectly. I suspect this is a problem with the software.

I printed your file using 2.5.200.0 and it printed === correctly to a Brother DCP 7020 laser printer.

My printer is a Canon MX880. Not only does the file not print correctly, the file previews the same incorrectly. Regardless of the printer, the problem is with this software in that the file does print and view correctly using Acrobat.

Hello Mark,

We are aware that some specific file + printer combinations could cause our current Viewer to not print them correctly, and are working on a permanent fix for ver3 of the same, but in the mean time please try the "Print as images" option in the Viewer's Print dialogue, and your document will be printed just as you see it on your screen.

Best,
Stefan

Thanks for the follow-up.

FWIW, although I'm a casual, home user of pdf software I have tried most all of the Acrobat alternatives--mainly on the recommendations of Lifehacker. Your software, at this point, is clearly the best. Keep up the good work and you all will do well.
