Imported dynamic stamps - Xchange is rotating them

I'm currently evaluating Xchange Viewer as a potential replacement for Acrobat Pro at our company. We make significant use of dynamic stamps as part of our review and approval process.

I understand the the current version doesn't allow for the creation of dynamic stamps, but I can import created ones from Acrobat. I have done so, copying a file of stamps from the Acrobat stamps directory to the one indicated for Xchange.

However, when I apply several of them, they are stamping on the document rotated 90° from their correct orientation. Opening the stamp file directly either in Acrobat or Xchange Viewer shows the stamps in the correct orientation. Applying the stamps in Acrobat also results in them being applied in the correct orientation.

Searching the forum, articles, and FAQ's so far hasn't revealed anything applicable to this case so far.

At this point, this is a pretty critical block to me being able to recommend the switch. Does anyone have a suggestion on something I can do to get the stamps to drop correctly? Since they show up correctly everywhere else, I wouldn't even know what change to make to the stamp file to get it to show correctly.

thanks for the post and thanks for evaluating PDF-XChange.

Can you tell me if there was any rotation done on the pages prior to the stamps beng applied? Also I'm interested in seeing this - can I ask you to attatch a sample - both pre and post application of the stamp? Please put your attachment in a zip archive or the forum software will strip it from the post.

I can't give one from a working document, but I did find some more generic PDF files that I could apply to. The first the the basic document. The second one is with the stamp as applied by Xchange. The last is as applied by Acrobat. The stamp is applied at the bottom of the first page.

The source document doesn't get rotated.

I notice when I apply the stamp with Xchange, it flashes for an instant in the right orientation, but then shows up and sticks rotated.

I've also noticed that the stamp doesn't show up correctly in the stamp palette. I get a white box in the palette and can only discern which stamp to apply based on the stamp name that pops up when I hover over it.

Can you please advise if the new release issued yesterday addresses this satisfactorily ?

I suspect however - it could be the actual stamps collection itself which is the root of the problem (thats not to say the problem is not ours and with the stamps) - but there could be some issue with the way we are working with this collection specifically and it would help to have some samples if at all possible to test with ...

I went ahead and rebuilt the stamps that were creating a problem. Apparently others have observed the issue and it seemed to be related to how the stamps were cropped down when they were built. The new stamps are working correctly now.

I'll have to check with my IT group to see about getting the update.
