System hangs when using JavaScript with Windows XP

With Windows XP, JavaScript hangs often up to 20 seconds(!). Tested with Windows XP (SP2).

With other Windows-systems (like Vista or Windows 7) I have absolutly no problems!

Please watch the attached m0vie and try the attached sample code on Windows XP.

Remark: Sometimes I also get this message while waiting for "JavaScript-Comeback":



What can I do?

Now also tested with a brand new installed Windows XP and installed SP3.

But without success ->>> Same problem!

That was one of the first things that came to my mind as well - to try in SP3 - but you say that you have already tested and it still fails so we will now try to reproduce this at our end and advise what could be the cause and the solution.

we've run a test on a couple of XP virtual machines and find that this is not evident on them all. We have one that does however display this issue and will be investigating further.

I have created a Support Request Ticket to track this. RT#1425: System hangs when using JavaScript with Windows XP - it's internal only but you can quote that when asking about the progress and we'll update you here.

I'm not sure if I do understand you (because my poor english).

Did I understand correctly that you have test it on many XP machines and the problem was found on only a few?

- If yes, You will try to resolve this problem - or is there no hope for me?

- If yes, where can I obtain the status of the Ticket #1425?

Yes - we did test on several machines, and while we only managed to reproduce the problem on only one - but that is sufficient for us to start an investigation - and that's why we created the ticket.

Those tickets are for internal use only, but as soon as there is any movement on the ticket - we will post here in this topic - so you will get the updates as soon as they are available. And you can always ask here in this topic if there are any news if we haven't updated it in e.g. 3-5 days.
