Cannot paste clipboard image into PDF page

Hi,

I found that it is sometimes impossible to paste pictures from clipboard into PDF page. This behavior is rather erratic. With a same PDF document, sometimes it is works, sometime not.

I am using build 201. Could anyone suggest a solution?

Hello Bob,

The most likely cause for this is that the "Problematic" PDF files are security protected and modification to them are forbidden (or you can only modify them by filling in form fields, bit not paste images).

You can check the security settings for a file via "File -> Document Properties" (Ctrl-D).

I checked that the file is not security protected at all.

It was actually for a same file. Previously it was possible to paste pictures, but I don't after which operation of change it became no longer available.

If you could send us a sample of the file in question I will try to reproduce that here, but please make sure that you have not simply changed the contents of the clipboard (e.g. copying text in another application).

Sometimes it helps to close PdfViewer and start again. I have this behavior if more of 15 pdf files are open in PdfViewer.
I suppose it is a graphic problem.

But this behavior is not new. I observed it in previous versions too - but with the workaround (restart the PdfViewer and close not used pdf files) the problem is solved for a while.

Hi again regillisch,

I guess my point was 'reliably' reproduce this, it seems intermittent and I'm not having any luck reproducing this.

I have

• opened 20 files in tabs.
• copied an image from MSPaint to the clipboard using CTRL+C
• pasted that images into each of the 20 documents using CTRL+V
• copied some text using CTRL+C
• pasted that into all 20 documents using CTRL+V
• pasted the text multiple times in 3 of the documents

If we can reproduce the issue we can maybe do something about it. Is there anything you can suggest from what you have seen that I can try to make this happen? Are there specific files in use each time? Is there some other action you are taking? There must be a common denominator here. Any suggestions?

Most of my pdf files are generated in a CAD system with Acrobat Distiller. They are no text files.
Most of the time it works fine - but from time to time ...

I can't find a regularity. Always after restart the PdfViewer it works correct.

I use Windows XP Prof 32 bit.

Is the XP on your machine upadated with all the latest fixes and service packs?
