Problem printing booklet with duplex printer
Hi @ I was frustrated with adobe so have decided to try XChange.
I am trying to print a booklet, it's fine viewing in the reader, A4 landscape 2 (A5) pages front and 2 back when I try and print to my duplex printer it prints 4 pages to front and 4 back. I cannot see how to change it, appreciate if someone could point me in the write direction.

Hi Donald and welcome!
What scaling type are you using? In the PDF-XChange Viewer Print Dialogue there is a panel labeled "Page Scaling". In there is a drop down list for the 'Scaling Type'. It sounds to me like you want to select 'Booklet'.
Another way that should get you what you want is to use:
Scaling Type: 'Multiple Pages per sheet'
Pages per sheet :Custom [1] by [2]
Auto-rotate page in cell

Can you make screenshot of your print dialog and post it here?

Hello thankins,
You can simply print your document as is - odd document sheets first, then rotate the physical sheets of paper - and print the even on the backs - this will give you 4 pages on each sheet, and while you will need to bend each sheet independently (making it more of a book with 1 sheet per signature) - it should produce an acceptable result.
Best,
Stefan

Re: Problem printing booklet with duplex printer
Thanks, Stefan, but the pages still seem to be out of order when I go to fold them into a booklet. Am I missing something here?

Re: Problem printing booklet with duplex printer
Might be best to 'zip' your file into an archive and upload here - or send to support@pdf-xchange.com so we can advise in relation to the file you are trying to print.
Of course if the pages have been mounted on to sheets that can only assemble them in the wrong order when printed in booklet mode - then there will be a limited amount we can do - but the only way to be sure is if we can see them.
Thanks

Re: Problem printing booklet with duplex printer
Hi Taylor,
And thanks for the sample.
As per my e-mail reply - I am afraid that with this particular file - and the way the pages are ordered in it - the only way to achieve that would be to use "Crop pages" in our Viewer - and crop once the left and once the right side - and then merge and rearrange the pages correctly so that they can be printed to a proper booklet.
Best,
Stefan

Re: Problem printing booklet with duplex printer
Hi Stefan, I really appreciate your help. Unfortunately I do not have the software rights to crop pages in my version of Viewer. Would it be possible for you to upload the changes you made to the document to a free file sharing site? I emailed support with info on how and where to do this. Thanks again!

Hello thankins,
I am sorry but I deleted the file
I am afraid that, even if I hadn't deleted it, I couldn't provide you with a file modified using a pro feature of our Viewer when you don't have a license.
Please check with the author of this file if you can have a version where each page is separate.
Best,
Stefan
