"Current Page" as default in Page Range?

Post by walter strohschein »

Hi, is it possible to set the default for Page Range in the Print Menu (Ctrl + P) to "Current Page" instead of "All" ? Would be very helpful; some of our documents are kind of collection of many one-page-documents, and usually only one page is to be printed.

Hi Walter,

If you open the pages navigation toolbar (Ctrl-T) - and click a page (or hold down the Ctrl key and click a few pages) - when you then start the print process - the "print what" selection would be automatically switched to "Selected Pages".

Best,
Stefan

Hi Stefan,
thanks for your fast answer - but it doesn't match my problem exactly: There are different end-users working with my documents - and some of them don't read the instructions for use (teachers...). They press "Print" and then again "Print" and don't care that they should select a single document in the way you described or select "Current page" instead of the initially marked "All" - and they will print 22 pages instead of one. So I want to change the initial default value.

Best, Walter

Hi Walter,

Unfortunately I do not know of any way to change this default option and you will need to speak with your teachers and ask them to be careful what they select to print as "Print -> Print" will definitely not always produce the desired effects in most applications anyway.

Stefan

Dear Stefan,
thanks a lot - I was really impressed by the speed of your reaction (even if you couldn't solve my problem).
