Hi,
I have found that with version build 201, the small triangular button on Windows 7 task bar which in previous versions appear when there the file list's vertical length exceeds screen height, now becomes useless.
This means that if I opened more files (with separate instances) which cause the task bar file list to exceed screen height, some files would not be able to found with triangle buttons. This basically means that these files would become no longer accessible to me.
Has anyone ever noticed the problem? And is there a fix?
Bob

Hi Bob,
it works on my PC with build 201. Do you see this with other applications? I don't think this is specific to PDF-XChange but a Windows issue.

I don't know, since with other applications it is hard for me to open so many different instances like for PDF.
I will try double-checking on this.

Hello Bob,
I also think this is Windows specific - as we do not control the list that windows generates, and while there might be some tweaks or tricks with which you can control this or make a scroll bar appear - it's not something I can help with. This list is however separate than the "Recent files" list inside the Viewer itself so I would recommend you to consider using the "Recent Files" list inside the viewer. You can control how many files you want this list to remember via "Edit-> Preferences-> General -> Opening Documents -> Maximum of Documents in Recent:"
Best,
Stefan

Not exactly the same, but concerning Recent Files
I accidentally closed a tab. I immediately went to recent files, but I don't seem to be able to find the most recently CLOSED file, lost in the fog of c:\users\whatever\appdata\local\temp\yaddayadda
Lots of programs seem to be keenest on recently opened but then subsequently closed files being in opened order, which always seems a bit unhelpful, especially to those like me who have loads of stuff open, sometimes for hours if not days. I don't know when I opened it, I have more chance of remembering when I closed it. The problem is excacerbated becuase the filenames (mainly from websites) aren't known to me, I know the link text and maybe the title. If they were local files (my documents etc) then I'm much more likely to recognise the filename, which is why this works ok with Word/ Excel etc, but not for online documents.
SO
I vote for date closed order, or at least some means of seeing this.
I vote for titles (like a web browser gives in the history), not filenames, especially when they in in a TEMP folder.

Hi shimself,
thanks for the input. I'm not sure if this would be practical to implement as the Viewer saves these when it is closed. Having said that your votes have been heard and I've added your suggestions to the 'wish list'. As I always point out, this is not a promise to deliver but a commitment to looking into it.

Thanks for the speedy reply, and yes I quite understand this is a wishlist.Paul - Tracker Supp wrote:Hi shimself,

I don't quite follow your practicality point. I just opened then closed a file inside PDF-Xchange, then closed the program then re-opened the program. It definitely remembered the filename I just opened, top of the list. So a recent files list is being maintained within a session.

Hi shimself,
if you are closing the viewer that changes things somewhat. I was considering your comment
if you are closing the viewer that changes things somewhat. I was considering your comment
and that might be a little less practical to implement. To be honest though - I do end user support and am not a coder so really can't comment on what is easy or difficult to achieve, that's why I suggested " 'I'm not sure if... "especially to those like me who have loads of stuff open, sometimes for hours if not days.
