Cannot edit copy of pdf file with password security

Post by pdftim »

Not sure if this is a natural limitation, or is there a workaround for this. I've saved the pdf as a new name, and I cannot edit or turn off the security without
pdf xchange asking for a password, which I do not have.

I've looked through the manual, and searched this forum and did not find any discussion on this...
Also I've attached the doc...

Thanks
Tim

HI pdftim,

PDF-XChange honours the document security put in place by an author. You will need to get that password from the author in order to make these changes.

That would be impossible in this case, have no idea who that could be.
And the online converters work ok, in this case I just used
http://www.online-convert.com
to convert to a rtf file and then edited. I would be ok with that solution also.

It would be useful to have that information "honor the security-original author need to authorise" information in the manual.

Thanks for the timely help.
