Signed signature field not compatible with Adobe Reader

Hi, I am evaluating the ActiveX PDF viewer for use in our software.
One requirement is for signing signature fields. If I do this in the PDF XChange viewer, it doesn't show anything in the signed signature field when viewing the document in the latest version of Adobe Reader. Although the signature still shows as expected in PDF XChange viewer.

I've now created a ticket in our internal system:
#1502: Viewer 2.5.201: Signature placed in a pre existing signature field not visible when the document is opened in Adobe
so that we can investigate this in details, and we will post back here as soon as there are any further news.

just wondering if there is any updated information in regards to this bug.
PDF signing is critical to our application and compatibility with Adobe Reader is a requirement.
Is it possible to have a fix before version 3?

Hi Bevan,

it is scheduled on the ticket for V3. I've asked on the ticket if it is possible before V3 but as we approach that release date it is getting more and more difficult to put aside V3 development for fixes to the current version.

Ultimately this will be at the discretion of the development team leader.

Lets see what the dev team come back with.

I have just tested this again with PDF-XChange Editor 3.0 (build 275.0). These are the steps:
1. open xdpRender1.pdf in PDF-XChange Editor
2. click the "Requestor" signature field
3. use a self-signed signature to sign
4. save document as xdpRender2.pdf

If I re-open xdpRender2.pdf in PDF-XChange Editor, the field is still unsigned.
If I open xdpRender2.pdf in Adobe Reader 11.0.1, it says "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired.".

We embed the PDF-XChange activeX control in our app and PDF signing is one of the critical features. Please, please have it fixed in the version 3 release build, thanks

I have reproduced your issue here and raised a support request ticket for this (internal only): RT#1737: Signed signature field not compatible with Adobe Reader so this should be fixed in the final release I'm sure.

this seems to still be a problem for PDF-XChange Editor 5.5 (build 311.0). Any idea when it'll be fixed?
