I am REALLY impressed with PDF-XChange, the speed is much faster than any PDF reader I've used before. However, I do need to write on the PDF directly (I'm using a Tablet PC), and the inking/writing support on PDF-XChange is broken.
For starters, I cannot wrote a simple sentence without getting some kind of error. Halfway through the word, I will lose the ink as it disappears. I think the problem is that the software is trying to convert my written letters into an object. Is there anyway to fix this? I need a smooth writing experience such as that in OneNote and Windows Journal.
Inking/Writing Support is Broken... any fixes

Hi,
this is not a known problem and has not been reported by other users - could you please ensure you have the latest release (help -> Check for Updates) and if the problem persists - please advise your windows version (and tablet make) and any other relevant info/samples and we will try and reproduce.
thanks

Re: Inking/Writing Support is Broken... any fixes
I confirm that I am using the latest version. I've tried in on two different tablet PCs - Dell Latitude ST and Fujitsu T2010. Both are running Windows 7.
I have been able to isolate the problem - it happens whenever I lift the pen off the screen. For example, if I were to write "testing" using a cursive writing style where I keep the pen on the screen at all times, this does not happen. If I write "testing" normally, which I will usually lift the pen up a little to cross the second "t", I get this problem. It seems that PDF X-Change is converting the entire scribble to some kind of object, and so when I place my pen down to the screen to write on the previous object, it does not allow me too.
Another example is writing the word "is" in lowercase, that almost never works properly. But if I write really slow, the word "is" does come up correctly, but if I write at my normal speed, it does not. Usually only the "s" appears. In addition trying to write the dot for the letter "i" is very often detected by PDF X-Change as a left click.

Hello Andro,
Yes - the Viewer tries to group your hand writings in objects - and with different writing speeds the results will vary.
The solution is to go to Edit -> Preferences -> Commenting and enable the two exclusive modes there. This way the Viewer will not try to "move" comments you've already made but will start new ones when you use your stylus, and if you want to select an existing comment you will need to press the Shift key first. The default behaviour is the opposite, and the Shift key will allow you to continue writing without your input interfering with existing objects.
Best,
Stefan
