Feature request: easier annotation

Post by halcyonwords »

Thanks guys for a great piece of software - I've been using it for about a year now. I have the need on occasion to comment on students pdfs (converted from Latex) and find that it slows the process of making comments by having to dbl click the comment after insertion then positioning cursor inside it (usually off the page) to enter text. Wouldn't it be easier to have the comment box open, with cursor at beginning, ready to edit/insert text?

I agree. With both comments and highlighting, dbl click opens the comment box to the right by default. The comment's position is remembered if you move it closer to the highlighted word or comment insertion point, but it would be better to have it open slightly below or just to the right of the highlight or insertion point by default.

I also agree that it might be better to focus on editing comments rather than just viewing them.

Thank you both halcyonwords and Bhikkhu Pesala.

Thanks for your suggestions and feedback. The e focus for the comments has been discussed here before and both it and the location have been added to the new features wish list for further evaluation.

Although we cannot promise right now they will be incorporated, it's been heard and will be considered. Ultimately it is at the discretion of the Development Team Leader as to waht to include or not.

Thanks.
