Hi!
I have Problems with viewing PDF-Files in Firefox 14 under Windows 7 Prof. 64Bit.
When Opening a PDF-Document-Link on a Webpage I always get the "Save as..." dialogue instead of viewing the PDF directly in the browser. Several weeks ago (I suppose with earlier Firefox versions) everything worked fine.
According to the article in the knowledge base (Knowledge Base Article: KB320) I checked the Preferences, but there is nothing wrong set there.
When I change the preferences to the stand-alone viewer, the PDF are opened automatically with the PDF Viewer Appslikation. When I change the setting to "Use XChange Viewer (in Firefox) the PDF is not displayed in a dfirefox fab, but the "Save as.." dialogue appers.
Any idea ?

Re: In-Browser Viewer in Firefox does not work - "Save As...
Hello humpich,
My daily browser is Opera, so I am not an expert in the FireFox settings - but I just updated my FireFox - and files were still opening inside the tab (as in the attached image) - so please make sure that our Viewer plug-in is not disabled, and maybe even try to reinstall our Viewer now that you have the latest FF version and let us know if this helps?
Best,
Stefan

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Reinstalling PDFXChange did not solve the Problem. The plugin is activated, I doublechecked it. Is there a way to reinstall the plugin manually ?

Hi humpich,
Thank you for your post.
I tested opening a PDF link in Firefox 14 with XChange Viewer Version 2.5 Build 204 and it is working.
Please make sure these settings are correct:
Firefox: Options->Applications->PDF-XChangeViewer Document is set to "Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox)"
Firefox: Add-ons Manager->PDF-XChange Viewer is Enabled (Disable button is shown)
PDF-XChange Viewer: Edit->Preferences->File Associations->Display PDF in Browser is checked
Thanks.
Sincerely,
Thank you for your post.

I don´t know why, but it is still not working! I made a screen-cap video where you can see my setting a the behaviour when opening a PDF.
Beside this everything is working fine! So I have no clue whats wrong...
The Screen Cap Video:

Download for better Resolution.
Thanks,
Marek

Re: In-Browser Viewer in Firefox does not work - "Save As...
Hi Marek,
And thanks for the video. I noticed that the FireFox plug-in is actually build 201, so please do uninstall our Viewer once again, reboot the PC, and then go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\plugins and delete this file: npPDFXCviewNPPlugin.dll if it is still there.
After that download the latest build of our Viewer from this link:
www.tracker-software.com/PDFXVwer.zip
And install once again with a second reboot at the end.
Then please go to the plug-ins folder in firefox and see if our plug-in dll has been updated correctly.
Best,
Stefan

Re: In-Browser Viewer in Firefox does not work - "Save As...
Thanks. Unfortunately your suggestet workaround did not help! But I found the solution!
The Problem was the Website itself. Its seems that the HTML-Code was written to open the PDF in a new Window or something like this. Because other sites work fine. And Inter Explorer shows the same thing.
You can try it by yourself: Try the PDF at the End of the Website:
http://www.klinikum-ingolstadt.de/index ... scheklinik
Sorry for confusing!

HI Marek,
Yes that was the other thing I was thinking of suggesting - whether it's website specific, but wanted you to properly update to build 204 first.
Glad that the "problem" is localized to that particular website, and happy to hear it's working properly elsewhere!
Best,
Stefan
