Fill in (highlight) a square created with rectangle tool

Post by leeann kluge »

I have users that edit their PDFs and want to put a "box" around data in the PDF and then fill it in with color (preferably highlight).
Is there a way to do this??

Hi Leeann

thanks for the post and question.

Absolutely, when you have the Rectangle Tool selected look to the Properties Toolbar (CTRL+E will toggle in on and if if you can't see it). On the Properties Toolbar you will see a tool to selkect the Fill Colour:

Select your colour for the fill. It will be over the top of your content by default so then go to the Blend Mode tool on that same Properties Toolbar (you need to still have your rectangle selected) and change it to Multiply.

...and your box will go to the background like a highlight. If you want no border simply select 0pt for the border thickness.
