PDF XChange Viewer Pro crashes

Hi all

We have a PDF template that contains a form with several different form fields. Filling in the fields works for all fine except the last three form fields. As soon as we enter a comma in one of the last three form fields and hit the enter key PDF Xchange Viewer Pro crashes. In these fileds the place and the current date have to be entered (e.g. "Zurich, 28.06.2012"

When we open this template with Adobe PDF Professional and fill in one of those fileds it works fine. We also found out that as soon as you type a comma in one of those fields the today's date will automatically be inserted into that field. So it seems to be some kind of autotext field.

I've attached a ZIP file (named r+bcrash_1.zip) which contains the PDF template as well as the error message that was generated in the windows application eventlog.

We're using the latest PDF XChange Viewer Pro (Version 2.5 build 203.0). Operating system is Windows 7 64bit.

Hope you could help us fixing this issue since we really need to be able to fill in this form.


We didn't create this PDF template ourself. It's a template from an official swiss platform (http://www.sia1001.ch/pages/d/download.html)

I managed to reproduce the crash and created a ticket in our internal system:
#1535: Viewer 2.5.203 Crashes when filling the attached form
That will allow us to investigate and fix this crash.

Hello R+B,

I am afraid that this one has not yet been resolved, it turns out to be tougher than we originally expected to resolve so it was not fixed in build 2.5.205. We hope we will manage to do it for the next one.

I have some good news! We have just fixed this problem and the fix will be available in the next build of our Viewer.
I do not have an exact release date for it yet though.
