Looking ahead to v3 at the end of the year, have you finalized what kind of image manipulation tools you are going to make available. We deal a lot with image based PDFs that were created by scanning in paper documents. Many of our users want to be able to touch up the underlying image after it gets into the PDF. As such, the kind of tools I'm looking for are things like the following.
1. Ability to erase stray marks on the image (auto despeckle would also be nice)
2. Ability to straighten the image (ofter comes through a bit crooked from the scanner)
If these aren't going to be there, then it would be nice to have the ability to extract the underlying image from the PDF so that we can minipulate it on our end, but then insert it right back into the PDF. As such, we'd be responsible for making the changes, but need a way to get the image out and then back in to the PDF.
Thanks.

Re: Image Manipulation Tools
I am not able to comment too much on the new feature set, as there are things covered by a non-disclosure agreement. If you are eligible to get the current beta you can take a look at what we have released publically so far.
I can confirm that we have auto-deskew (question 2). I'm not certain of the first one, but I will add it to the feature wish-list for the core development team to look at.
It is worth mentioning that the new version has a plug-in architecture that lets us, and external developers, build plug-ins. An image editing plugin with features beyond the base feature set would certainly be a possibility, if there is sufficient demand.
Also, I would refer you to these news items:
