Difference between "makeiassoc" and "/makeassoc:web=yes"

what is the Difference between "makeiassoc" and "/makeassoc:web=yes"? I think it is the same, right?

Hi Peter,

makeiassoc will set the Viewer as the default application for handling local PDF files - so that when you double click on a file it's opened with our Viewer,

And adding :web=yes will also set it as the default browser plug-in for handling links to PDF files.

So they are not the same

/makeassoc Makes PDF-XChange Viewer as default PDF-viewer.
web=yes|no If this argument is used and its value is yes, it enables displaying PDF in Internet browsers by PDF-XChange Viewer.
For example,
PDFXCView.exe /makeassoc
PDFXCView.exe /makeassoc:web=yes

/makeiassoc Enables displaying PDF in Internet Browsers by PDF-XChange Viewer.

Ops - just noticed the I in makeIassoc in your original question!

The IE add-in is a bit more specific - and needs to be installed separately - and a separate command line parameter passed for it!

Apologies - I am not quite up to speed this morning it seems.

/makeiassoc is used if you want to set up our browser add-in as the default one for displaying PDF files online while
/maceassoc allows you to set up local file associations (and if desired at the same time set up the browser add-in associations too with the :web=yes addition).
