I'd be great to use specific symbols like Microsoft Word does. This way it'd be easier to include arrows or other special charakters in a text.
Thank you!

Re: Specific symbols
HI Salev,
You would need to add them as stamps. This is not a limitation of our software but what objects are defined in the PDF specification itself. The call-out, text-box, lines etc are all defined by the PDF spec. If we were to try to add other non-defined objects it would break compatibility with the PDF standards and others would not see your symbols. That is why a collection of stamps is the way to go I believe.
Some useful articles on using stamps:

Re: Specific symbols
Thank you very much for this information! Stamps seem to be a really great thing.
About the specific symbols:
Actually I was thinking about copying text from another font into a textfield with some other font. Exp: I have an arrow (font: Wingdings [here: ß or ä]) and it's in the line over the text where I want to put it in. So I copy this Wingdings symbol/letter with copy+paste into a text with the font Arial. But If I do so, it doesn't stay in this font - it switches to the font "HP PSG" instead of staying in Wingdings. This way only a space symbol appears. Everytime I want to use an arrow or another symbol, I need to copy it, it automatically switches to HP PSG and then I have to change the font of this text part again. If I do it, it stays in this font - but it doesn't work with copying a font.
It's not only about this symbol font, it's also about other fonts. I cannot keep a special font, if I copy it into a text with another font.
Is there a way to deactivate this automatic system?

Hi Salev,
Thank you for your post.
Can you set the font to " Wingdings" (the one you want) in the text box and then copy over the target character?
Thanks.
Sincerely,

Re: Specific symbols
Forget about WindDings — use a Unicode font that supports DingBats and Miscellaneous Symbols — then you won't have to keep changing fonts. Any of my free fonts have a full set of symbols, or there are plenty of standard Windows fonts like MS Unicode or Code 2000 that have a wide range of characters. They may be the safest choice since other users will also have them installed.

Re: Specific symbols
Thank you! Now those symbols work! Unfortunately I cannot copy text with a specific font size into another text with some other font size. This way those symbols shrink, if I copy them from another line (font size 18) to a different text part (font size 9).
Anyway, now I've got some really cool new arrow symbols.

If someone's interested: You can find them in Word, if you look for symbols in the fonts "Meiryo" and "MC Gothic".
By the way, Bhikkhu, your website http://www.aimwell.org/Fonts/fonts.html doesn't work. But thank you for your help.
"Can you set the font to " Wingdings" (the one you want) in the text box and then copy over the target character?"
That doesn't work for me. It still switches to some other font. But I can do this by marking a text part and then changing the font to Wingdings. Unfortunately it gets stressful to change the font for every copied symbol while I use them a lot.
I actually like the fact that copied text switches to the shape of the rest of the text but in this case I'd prefer to deactivate this function.
Thank you! ☃

Re: Specific symbols
Hi Salev,
Glad to hear that Bhikkhu's advise works for you
and unfortunately there's no way to stop the font change when copying and pasting text between text boxes in our Viewer - so you will need to copy the symbols and then change their size as needed.
Best,
Stefan
