Sort document tabs?

Good Morning,

I am using the free version of PDF-XChange viewer (current version 2.5.197). I have several dozen documents opened into one instance, and I would like to sort the document tabs alphabetically in descending or ascending order.

I've learned I can drag and drop them into any order, but haven't found a command to do it all at once. The sorting I'd most like to be able to do is on filename.ext, but I'd also like to sort on full pathname, as well as the last modified date. Is this possible to do?

If this is not yet possible, may I ask that this feature be considered for a future version?

thanks for the question and suggestion. It is not possible to automatically order the tabs the way you describe. We can add that Feature Request to the 'wish list' and we can look into the practicality of adding such a feature after the release of Version 3 later this year.

I'm sorry to learn the capability isn't available now, but I do thank you for adding my request to the 'wish list'. I have other software (text editors, for example) with this capability and have found it invaluable.

This is so far the only missing thing in PDF-Xchange Viewer. I also open a lot of documents at the same time. A button for sorting the document would be nice.
It would be great if there is a system setting for automatically sort documents.

version 3 is planned to have a feature for managing collections of documents. I don't have details on how it will work but I expect it will go someway towards giving you what you want.
