PDF-XChange Viewer crashes on paste

Post by thejtluv »

Scenario:

User has a PDF with several pages. User creates a new "symbol" by using the shapes within xchange viewer, a circle with a couple lines. She then uses Microsoft OneNote keyboard shortcut windows+s to take a screenshot of a small portion of the screen, capturing the newly created symbol as a whole (it's pretty small, maybe a quarter inch square). She then moves to another page within the same PDF and attempts to paste the newly created symbol. The software crashes at this point, then windows re-opens it with no file open.

Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit
2.5 (Build 205.0)

Thanks for your help.

Hello jt,

Could you please send us a sample file that shows this behaviour, and why not try to use the snapshot tool of our onw Viewer - this will also create an image in the clipboard of the selected area.

Best,
Stefan

I tried it with the snip tool inherent to xchange viewer with no issues. I let her know about that, as well as the idea of adding it to the stamp pallette for easy future use. Thanks for your help!

Hi jt,

Glad to hear this is working for you and hopefully for her as well!
Adding it as a stamp is also really neat - but in this case she might want to create her objects (on an empty single page document), then flatten annotations and save the file and then create a stamp from that file. This way the stamp will be vector based and easily scalable without loss of quality.

Best,
Stefan
