Is pdf exchange no longer free?

Is pdf exchange no longer free? I went to update it and it said that it was a free timed trial.

I still have several issues with the software including text not show up correctly. I do not know why the text font is not supported in your pdf, so sometimes I get unknown text. This is obviously not good since when I type on a PDF form it should display what i type or the PDF is useless to me. I do not have this problem with other PDF software.

we sure do still offer the PDF-XChange Viewer for free. Nothing has changed in that respect. We don't have a timed trial. Our trial mode puts water marks on documents if a 'Pro' or licensed feature is used but the 'Free Version' will not time out.

I'm interested in finding out more about your problems. With text showing different fonts from other software, it is very likely that there is some font substitution being performed. Take a look at this article for more detail on font substitution: https://www.pdf-xchange.com/knowledgebase/161

If you still have the issue and embedding the fonts doesn't help please send us the PDF that we may take a look.

So the difference between PDF exchange viewer and PDF exchange lite is that lite is just a smaller compact version and not free vs trail?

All i am doing is copy pasting into PDF exchange viewer from my web browser. Is it not pasting as the default plain text and if so why not make that option default?

No, I'm afraid that's not the case at all. PDF-XChange Viewer and PDF-XChange Lite are complimentary products, they do totally different things. m;-)

PDF-XChange Viewer is for opening, marking up and modifying existing PDF documents. There is rudimentary support for creating PDF files from text and images but that's really a sideline feature.

PDF-XChange Lite is a Virtual Printer and is designed to capture the print jobs of other applications and save it as a PDF file rather than print to paper. That's why it's called the Driver. Lite cannot open PDF files, it can only be used to convert other file formats to PDF by "Printing to PDF" as described above.

What we have done is offer users with a Viewer license the rights to also unlock Lite with their Viewer key. We have also offered for non-commercial/home use a free version of Lite.

I hope that clears things up.

Regards copy/pasting text, I'm not entirely clear on what you are seeing Vs what you would like to see. can you offer more detail?

I read about the difference between the pdf viewer and lite. Thanks Paul for that information. Just a follow up question, do we have one that does both the job of these 2 programs? Thanks.

If you purchase the PDF-XChange Viewer PRO - Lite is included in the price - but no product on its own does both tasks in one.
