pdf's don't open in firefox

I'm running firefox 16.0.2 and pdf xchange viewer 2.5(build 206.0). When I click on a pdf link on a web page, the document does not open. Instead, I get the save file window. Firefox shows the xchange viewer in the add-on list.

Any ideas, please?

do you have Use PDF-Xchange Viewer set in Firefox? I saw some strange behaviour when doing this.



It was opening in PDF-XChange when I had Adobe selected, downloading when PDF-XChange selected etc. What I did was go to the plugins screen and explicitly disable Adobe then it would open in PDF-XChange as expected.

Can you try that and let me know how it goes?

Paul. I don't have Adobe. But, when I looked at the specs of the Xchange viewer, it was set to save. When I change it to open, all was right again. Not to look at gift horse in the mouth, but I wonder how it got changed from open (as it has been for a very long time) to save.
