Set the default printer? Where?
Hello
There is for the pdf xchange viewer per 2.5 the ability to set a printer as your default.
Sorry for bad English.
best regards

Re: Set the default printer? Where?
Hi larsonik,
there is no setting within the Viewer to set a default that only it will use. You set your default printer in Windows and it is independent of applications. All applications will use the same default printer that Windows has registered.
To set a printer as system default right click the printer in your printers list in the Windows Control Panel and select "Set as Default"
I hope that helps.

Re: Set the default printer? Where?
Hello,
Unfortunately, it is definitely not the case with me. I've set my HP printer as default in Windows and will work in any other program. The xchange viewer the first assumes always alphabetical order. See chart.

Re: Set the default printer? Where?
That is a bit strange. It does honour the default printer when I set it that way.
Can you make sure that PDF-Xchange Viewer is closed when you set the default printer. Then starting the Viewer with your new default should work. If the Viewer was open when you set the default it may 'remember' the last one used.
To make the test valid, close all applications, check with the task manager that PDFXCview.exe is not running (kill it if it is), make something else the default, then make your desired printer the default, then launch PDF-Xchange Viewer.
Do let me know how that goes.

Re: Set the default printer? Where?
The HP printer was already defined prior to installation of the PDF Xchange viewer as default. I have started now test time set and then again a value other than the default, but it does not work. It always goes to the alphabet.

Re: Set the default printer? Where?
HI again larsonik
According to your screen shot it looks like you do not have a default set. Our Viewer will show a different icon for the default printer that it will for the others. The default printer should have a green check mark next to it. It's a bit hard to make out but you can see the difference here:

Can you send us a screen shot of your Devices and Printers list? It should also have the green check mark against your default printer.
It should look like this.:

Re: Set the default printer? Where?
Hi Paul,
I believe you. For me, the green check mark for the standard missing Printer viewer menu in contrast to friends. No standard is defined and is therefore the first entry taken by the alphabet.
Why that is so me - no idea.
Why can I attach any pictures?
Greetings

Hi larsonik,
what version of Windows is that?
regards attaching images, it is disabled in the forum because we were getting too many inappropriate things being posted. If you host the image on another resource you can use the 'Image' tag to display it or else just send the zip attachments as you did.
