how can you highlight notes on a PDF sheet music ?

hello,

the piano scores are no digital as PDF-files on my tablet. and I view them with PDF XChange Viewer.

there is the tool to highlight text. but it doesn't highlight notes or other music symbols on my sheet music.

how can I highlight notes and other non-text on my sheet music?

I tried making a yellow custom 'stamp'. but it covers the symbol I want to highlight. it doesn't highlight.

anyone have some creative ideas?
