Fullscreen is not entirely fullscreen
When i enable fullscreen and i enable Fit page, the page is not fully covering the left and the right side.
With the background set to black, one can clearly see that there is some vertical black area on both sides visible.
When i open the same pdf documents in acrobat reader in full screen, i do not have this problem.
I use pdf-xchange also for presentations, so this a bit of dealbreaker to me.
Are there any workarounds or settings available to solve this problem?

You can edit the Fullscreen preferences and set the background colour to white, or whatever colour your document is.

Re: Fullscreen is not entirely fullscreen
The problem is that my pdf contains pictures with different colors, so that is not going to provide a solution.
I would like to view the pdf as it was meant to be, so with 1:1 pixel mapping.
Any other suggestions?

Re: Fullscreen is not entirely fullscreen
Hi ruudboek,
as I understand what you are doing the issue is that if the dimensions of the page are not exactly the same as your screen dimensions then to get 1:1 on the horizontal axis (fit width) then the height may not be the same as your screen.
Similarly if you select "Fit Page" and the dimensions again do not match your monitor then one edge is going to have background.
Now you say this works in Adobe Reader so perhaps you could supply a screen shot of your file full screen in both Adobe Reader and PDF-Xchange Viewer illustrating the differences in how it is displayed. This will give us a much better idea of what is happening. We would like to see the source file as will if possible .

Re: Fullscreen is not entirely fullscreen
Sorry for my late reply, i was on holiday.
The problem is that it doesn't even matter what view i choose, the image in fullscreen will never actually cover the whole screen, because you guys made the fullscreen feature in pdf xchange so that it will always show a part of the background.
Acrobat reader does not have this problem.
Just check the attachments with screenshots of the fullscreen views.
To explain how i tested:
I created a jpg file with a size of 1920x1080 which contains a red border covering the full 1920x1080 area of my 1920x1080 monitor. Then i converted the jpg file to a pdf file (see attachment "Test 1920x1080.pdf").
In the acrobat reader screenshot you can clearly see that the red border reaches all the way to the corners of the screen area, leaving no background visible.
The screenshots of pdf xchange clearly show that a part of the background is always visible, no matter what the view setting is chosen.
I would like see the fullscreen feature in pdf xchange live up to its intended use and that means displaying a fullscreen covering the whole screen area available.
I would also like the fullscreen to be fullscreen no matter what view is chosen, so yes "Fit to Page" should also cover the whole screen area, just like it does in acrobat reader.
I hope i am making sense here.

Re: Fullscreen is not entirely fullscreen
Hello Ruudboek,
My monitor is 16:10 (1920x1200) - so I created a new sample file with those proportions - and I must say that the whole area of the screen was utilized. Could you please try pressing Ctrl-Shift-G - which toggles the gaps shown between pages. This should by default be off for full screen mode but you might have turned it on at some point. Turning this back off should fix the problem.
Best,
Stefan

Unfortunately Ctrl-Shift-G makes the border from the background about 1 or 2 pixels less wide, but it is still clearly there.
Just to make sure that we are both using the same settings and the same procedure could you download the test pdf file i made for the 1920x1200 resolution and then follow this procedure?:
1. Open PDF Xchange Viewer.
2. Go to Edit\Reset All Settings to Default.
3. Check all options and click on OK.
4. Close PDF Xchange Viewer.
5. Open the test-pdf file by double clicking on it in Windows Explorer.
6. Hit F12.
Now you should clearly notice the black borders of the background next to the red lines.
I am using PDF Xchange Viewer version 2.5 build 206.0 by the way.

Re: Fullscreen is not entirely fullscreen
Hi ruudboek,
I managed to reproduce this with your sample. At first I tried with a 16 x 10 cm file - and as such the "black border" was negligible - try the attached sample file.
Then I tried creating a 160 by 100 cm PDF - and the gap in full screen mode was even larger - so I will discuss this with my colleagues now.
Best,
Stefan

Hi stefan, i am glad that you have been able to reproduce this nasty problem.
Can't wait for an update in which this problem is fixed. If you need me to do any testing, just let me know.
Could you perhaps reply to this topic, if the update has been released?

Re: Fullscreen is not entirely fullscreen
Hello ruudboek,
I got a reply from the Viewer project leader, and he told me that this problems is due to us using rounded scale level in the current Viewer. That is not technically a bug but a result of the implementation we are using.
This will be improved in V3 of our Viewer as it's using 100% different source and the results will be much better.
For now - just try to use smaller page size if possible to minimize the rounding error.
Best,
Stefan

Thanks Stefan. Do you have any idea or an estimation when v3 will be released?

Hi ruudboek,
I'd avoid making any firm promises, but for now I believe the expectations are for this December.
Best,
Stefan

Re: Fullscreen is not entirely fullscreen
Stefan, i have downloaded the new Version 3.0 build 275.0 from 27 december, which is apparently now called PDF xChange Editor.
I cannot find any option to open a pdf in fullscreen.
Is the fullscreen option still in development?

Hi ruudboek,
Indeed you are right, it's not yet implemented.
