Adding points to AREA and PERIMETER.

Post by Jezze »

Hello,

As an extensive user of your software I was wondering if at any point in the future I would be able to edit AREA and PERIMETER lines in such a way I could add points between the first and the last point assigned (by doubleclick).

Sometimes a point is missed resulting in the need to redo all previous points instead of just adding one additional point. I hope you understand what I mean, else I'll post some screenshots later on.

I thank you in advance.

Hello Jesse,

In the PDF-X Editor you would be able to right click an existing area/perimeter object and select to add a point from the menu, but in the current Viewer - if you miss a point "while" still making the area/perimeter - then just add two points close to each other at the next location where a point is needed - and you can then once you've completed the shape - you can click and move points around - so if you realize you've missed a point just after one wrong click - you will have to move just two of the shape's points.

Best,
Stefan

This editor you speak of, is it a release to be made? And where in the line of software you currently publish would it be sorted? Standard?

Thankyou,

Jesse

Hi Jesse,

I added some more details for the Editor in the first post you made in our forums (but that was my second reply to you - apologies for mixing them).

The PDF-X Editor will replace the current Viewer, and a release candidate version (with the feature to add points to existing area/perimeter objects present) can be downloaded from here:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/pdfxve3

It's due for release in March.

Best,
Stefan

I am testing it at this moment, Would there be a specific spot to discuss this new release?

Thankyou once again!

Hi Jesse,

You can use the current Viewer forum for now, but please note that some of the features are not yet available/activated but will be in the final gold release. The one currently available is aiming at demonstrating the new features mostly - so existing ones that are present in the Viewer might be missing from the Editor for now.

Stefan

Ok, I noticed this.

This makes it impossible for me to test it in the professional manner I wish to. Will wait for the release.

One remark tho, the rectangle around the selected measurement annotation, would this have mandatory visibility, or could it be toggled back to how the current viewer highlights selected measurement annotations. It's not that the feature is without great use, it could start to clutter a severely annotated file (which mine mostly are).

Thanks again for your help so far! And looking forward to testing the release!

Hi Jesse,

There would be just one rectangle around all your selected annotations - this allows you to rotate the selection. I can't comment yet on how exactly that would be controllable - but certainly there would be some options in the menu to control the commenting/selection features.

Best,
Stefan
