Hello,
I'm looking for a possibility to view and edit one and the same PDF-document in two windows that are independent from each other.
For example, I'd like to display a table (or picture or the like) in my PDF-document in a first view/window all the time and browse the rest of the PDF-document in another view/windows including making annotations and the like.
Does this work with PDF XChange Viewer?

Hi Fred137,
Thanks for the post and welcome to the forums! Before I answer, I should just ask you to clarify; are you looking to have an annotation made in one window be automatically added to the other, or have the annotations added separately?

Re: browsing 1 PDF document in two independent views/windows
The first alternative!
I'd like to have the annotation in both "windows", i.e. in one and the same PDF-document.
I know, I could just make a copy of a PDF-document and open the original in one window and the copy in another window. But what I want is, that I am using only 1 single document.
Imagine the following:
I am often working with information in PDF-documents, where a figure or a table is described in the text on the next 3 pages. While reading the text, I'd like to have a look at the figure or the table all the time. When working with the document, I make some annotation to the text and some annotations to the figure. All annotations shall be in one and the same copy of the PDF-document.

Re: browsing 1 PDF document in two independent views/windows
Hi Fred,
Thanks for clearing this up for me - this isn't something that can be done in Version 2.5 of the Viewer, but can be done in the Candidate Release of Version 3.0, which can be found at the link below. The unfortunate drawback here, is that not all annotation features are available from the Candidate Release, so it may not be an acceptable work-around:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/company ... s/view/120
Once you have installed it (should you choose to), go to Window --> Split and this will allow you to do as you need. By clicking the arrow beside "Split," you will have the option to choose between either a Vertical or Horizontal split.
I would strongly advise reading the article above, as it has important information on licensing and release dates!
Hope that helps!

Re: browsing 1 PDF document in two independent views/windows
Thank you for this information! As I really enjoy to work with PDF-XChange Viewer, this is good news for me!
However, I'd like to try candidate 3.0 in a separate portable version for the beginning, is there such a version?

Hi Fred,
That's not a problem - glad to hear it too
You'll also be pleased to know that the download available from the link that I posted is already portable.
HTH!

Re: browsing 1 PDF document in two independent views/windows
I have a further issue:
would it be possible to rotate the two views of one and the same document independently from each other?
thanks in advance

Re: browsing 1 PDF document in two independent views/windows
HI Fred,
This should be something that you can do if Viewing the documents in two separate tab groups; either vertical or horizontal. You won't be able to do this if you are using the Split view. The downside to this is that only a split view allows the documents to be marked up simultaneously.
