After installing the free PDF-Viewer and having that work fine I installed PDF-XChange Pro via PDFX5.exe. I already had Adobe Acrobat XI installed on my system. After installing PDF-XChange Pro, Adobe Reader would not longer page up or down, the place where you put the page number no longer took a number other than "1", and finally, I no longer could use Ctrl-F in my documents. This is all unsatisfactory. If I can get this to work right I will try to reevaluate the software for OCR of my documents.
I am using Windows 7, X-64.
Installation of PDFX5.exe ruins working of Adobe Reader XI

Re: Installation of PDFX5.exe ruins working of Adobe Reader
Hi GaryC
installing PDF-XChange Pro should in no way effect your installation of Adobe. We have literally millions of users who have both installed side by side. PDF-XChange plays well with other children...
I would suggest you re-install Adobe and then set your default Viewer to the one you want. Both programs should be fine running on the same system side by side. I suspect this is more coincidental that caused by our installer, we have had no other reports that I'm aware of of our installer breaking Adobe.
Can you try that and let us know how it goes?

Re: Installation of PDFX5.exe ruins working of Adobe Reader
I had already tried uninstalling and reinstalling your software before with no improvement in Adobe Reader XI. I had not tried reinstalling the latter program.
I had already uninstalled your software before trying to install it again. Before doing likewise with Adobe Reader (AR) I tested out AR again. This time it worked. I have no idea what I did differently this time, but in both cases I did a custom installation and may have chosen different options.
I then tried to use PDF-Tools 4.0 to do a conversion of a .jpg file to PDF. It had worked before with your software, now it doesn't, or more accurately, it does convert to a PDF file, but doing a search of the converted file with your software shows no hits. Before I did get hits.
If you prefer, I can re-post this as a new subject.

Hi Gary,
hth
That would be better. Post with the source and output files and a description of how we can reproduce the issue and we'll see what we can do.If you prefer, I can re-post this as a new subject.
