Would there be configurability support for the toolbars in the upcoming revision of the Editor this week? Currently the toolbars are locked and only minimization of the individual toolbars can be done, or an entire toolbar line can be minimized. I recollect someone asking this question before in the forum, but couldn't find it and therefore asking again.
I am using sub-version 300 of the Editor and on Windows XP SP3 Professional 32 bit.

Re: Toolbar customization
Hello srn123,
I have a preliminary version of the build here (mostly for testing the installer and it's proper operation), and there are a few changes and improvements in it, but for now the toolbars are still locked. This might change to the final build however.
Best,
Stefan

Re: Toolbar customization
Thanks Stefan for the update. When compared to the general mainline feature parity with the XChange Viewer, this capability will be lower priority though the Viewer does allow configuration of the toolbars. I found out by accident that I can have a 2 line toolbar in Editor (with icons spanning 2 lines) by dragging (extending) the line under the toolbar. It wasn't intuitive and that made me dig around to see if there were other adjustments that could be made to the toolbar.

Hi RamNarayan S,
And thanks for pointing this out - I was unaware of it myself either

Re: Toolbar customization
Hi,
I'm currently trying out the Editor (build 304) and noticed that the toolbars are not movable.
I consider the movable toolbars an important feature in the Viewer, as they allow me to dock the toolbars (and even the menu bar!) at the left side, which saves a lot of the precious vertical screen space. This makes a lot of a difference on a 14" notebook display where every pixel counts! With this setup I can usually view two full pages of a reasonable cropped pdf side by side without strain.
Please enable this feature also in the Editor! If the Editor is going to incorporate all the features of the Viewer without compromise, I will surely buy the PRO version. The Viewer is such a great product that I'm a bit afraid it will loose some of its usability in the merge with the Editor. Please prove me wrong!
best regards
Edwin

Re: Toolbar customization
Hi edwinst,
Thanks for the post - the ability to move the toolbars and customize the UI is coming, though I can't say when, yet.
Also, while I can't say as an absolute cerainty, I believe that all of the features of the Viewer are being migrated and should be included as new builds are released.
Cheers, hope that helps!

If posting files to this forum, you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded.
Thank you.

I also looking forward to customize the toolbars, at least to more lines.

Re: Toolbar customization
Hello to all members, my newbie post...
While explorating new editor I am missing old settings toolbar shown at bottom of viewers's interface:

Also right click on opened document does not show the option 'Document properties' with the security settings and file informations. This is much more comfortable in viewer. In editor the 'Document properties' must be accessed by menu 'file' or shortcut STRG+D:

How to get back settings toolbar and 'Document properties' on right click?
Thanks for help!

Re: Toolbar customization
Hello pdfcoder,
Thanks for your comment. Indeed all those customization settings will also be available in the Editor - but it will happen in one of the net few builds.
Regards,
Stefan
