Incorrect font display in PDF XChange Pro 2.5
I'm getting an incorrect font display from a vendor's datasheet http://www.analog.com/static/imported-f ... AD7801.pdf. The errors show up most obviously in the title block but there are other spacing errors in the body text. Look at the "+2.7V..." line under Features, for example. Screen captures from PDF XChange Pro (ver 2.5, build 205.0) and Acrobat reader 9 are in the attached ZIP file.

Just a note that the incorrect font display issue is still present in the current release (build 209.0, Feb 8 2013).

Hello rawebb,
Yes I can see in the ticket that it's still not resolved, and a further comment that this should be fixed in V3 - due for release in March.
Best,
Stefan

Re: Incorrect font display in PDF XChange Pro 2.5 [update V3
The good news is that the original incorrect font display (with http://www.analog.com/static/imported-f ... AD7801.pdf) is indeed corrected.
Also, in general, the displayed fonts look like they are much sharper in V3 than in V2.5, so well done on that.
However, I did find that there is a new typeface display problem introduced in V3. If you look at page 11 of http://www.st.com/web/en/resource/techn ... 037051.pdf (sorry -- it's a largish file) the oblique text is presented with the individual glyphs too wide.
JPG snips of the page are attached (zipped) for PDFX 2.5, 3, and Acro 9.
Overall, though, nice work in the update!

Thanks rawebb,
the devs will take a look in time. There is still much to do on V3 and so I'm not sure what priority this will find, but it is noted and on the todo list.

Re: Incorrect font display in PDF XChange Pro 2.5
I have just revisited PDF XChange now that Foxit is becoming very bloated and am using 2.5 v210.0. I am having serious problems with this font display issue and most of my semiconductor datasheets show total garbage. See an example in the attachment. Displays fine in Foxit Reader. Wondering whether this was an issue with later versions of PDFXCV I checked on my old computer that has a much earlier version of 2.5 and it was identical. Whether v3 will be better we will of course have to see, but as it stands PDFXChange is unusable for me as it stands.
ps. I am using the portable version, very attractive with its much smaller file size. I assume the installed version will be identical as far as rendering is concerned?

Re: Incorrect font display in PDF XChange Pro 2.5
Just to say that the problems I had with datasheet rendering have been cured now that I have moved to the installed version of Viewer rather than the portable version. Maybe an issue in the portable version not being able to use Windows installed fonts or some other issue that is not apparent. Due to the current lacking features in PDF Editor I will keep to the viewer at the moment.
