Let me describe the problem I have with the PDF Xchange Editor 3.0.301.0 on Windows 7 SP1. I am not sure if it is a bug in the program or a problem of my particular system. Still I believe that describing it may probably help the developers and other users.
It comes up only when you try launching Editor for the first time after switching on the computer. Though normally it takes over 15 MB of the memory, Editor stops loading on arriving to 2160 kB or so, then turns back and finally stops at 416 kB. There is a rather tricky way to work around. One should go to the Task Manager and close the process PDFXEdit.exe, then launch the Editor again. Now it loads completely in 10 seconds. And a really fast start you will have if you close the program and open it once more, this time it will take between 2 and 3 seconds.
Well, it is not very simple and pleasant. But despite this strange launching I still prefer Editor to Adobe Reader which opens some (not all) PDF documents always at the first page instead of opening them at the page where I stopped reading last time.
Editor cannot be launched normally

Hi, manimix.
Hmm, strange... You are the first person to report this problem. It could be that this issue is specific to your system.
We can investigate it through remote session using TeamViewer (http://www.teamviewer.com/en/index.aspx).
If you are happy with such a remote session then please take a look at this KB article:

Hi, Vasyl
Thank you for your quick reaction. Unfortunately your proposition is for me out of question. I am not ready to go as far as allowing anybody to control my computer, this point is definitely closed. On the other hand, I hope that my description has been accurate enough to give the starting ground for research. In addition I will eagerly report you any details you may need for your work.
Good luck, Alf

Something to do with Windows 7 prefetch ?
Prefetch and SuperFetch are 'on' by default and speed up loading programs.
More info on Windows registry settings in here:

Maybe you can try by deleting the files with names that begin with PDFX, in the prefetch folder "C:\Windows\Prefetch".
After that, restart your computer and see what it gives...
