win8 and write a "dot"

Post by kroe »

Hi,

I've got a problem with win8 and writing a annotation (with a digitizer) like 3*4=12 and "*" is only a "dot". The same is, if I want to write an "i" - I can't write the "i-dot"
Win8 "thinks" I want to do a left klick. With Win7 I've no problem.

Is there any solution for win8?

Kind regards
kroe

Hi Kroe,

Thanks for the post - I forwarded this to the Dev. Team and they've informed me that this is an issue with your drivers, not the Viewer. Unfortunately, we are unable to implement a work-around for this either, so I'm afraid that you'll have to contact the company, who made the drivers, in order to have this resolved.

Thanks, hope that helps!

Hi,

thanks for answering.
Just as an information for you - the problem apears on three different (asus, dell, fujitsu) win8-Tablets with a digitizer and the wacom-technology.
Of course there could be a problem with the driver, but for example the foxitreader has the possibility in the preferences: 'pencil settings: "allow to click to create anotation"' - if this is checked, a "dot" works, if this option is unchecked, the same problem appears like under the pdf-x-change-viewer.

But this was only an information for development- I'm working with win7 a have no problems (and I think pdf-x-change viewer is the much better choice :-))

Kind regards

Only an addition:

I tested it just the moment on a lenovo tab2 -> the "dot" also doesn't work.

Hi,

we hope to have a solution for this in our PDF-XChange Editor in the next build but one - it will most likely not be available in the Viewer I am afraid as it would not be so straight forward to implement...

I just tested the newest pdf-xchange-editor, but I haven't found a possibilty to write a "dot" - is 3.0 build 301 the newest?

Yes - but please note - I said the next build but one - that means '302' at the earliest ...

Hello Dieter,

In 301 build of Editor, you may try to enable this options with registry. Just add registry key form attached reg file.
