Hello,
this is a fatal bug and I lost a 2 h transcript because of this - very annoying! When editing an attachment the viewer allows editing and saving the changes. But when you open next time they are gone.
Reproduce:
- Open PDF with severals PDFs as attachments.
- Open an attachment and add notes
- Save changes
- Close document
- Close PDF with attachments
- Open PDF with attachments
- Open annotated attachment
- Changes are gone
If the viewer don't supports editing of attachments it should not possible to edit and save! If it is possible it should work. This is a really annoying bug.
Fatal: Changes to attachments are not saved

Re: Fatal: Changes to attachments are not saved
Hello t.yellow.eyes,
Yes unfortunately for the moment the Viewer can't store the changes directly in the attachment, so you need to extract it first (have it as a separate file), make your changes and then import the modified file back as attachment to the original. We plan to support direct saving of the changes to the attachment in the new PDF-X Editor.
Best,
Stefan

Then please, please implement at least a warning message that the changes will not be saved, if I don't extract it! It is really not straight forward to tell the user that changes are saved and the next time he opens the document they are gone.

Hi t.yellow.eyes,
I've made a note of this to for the development team in the form of an addition to the feature "Wish List". I can't guarantee that this will be implemented but it's on the radar for sure. It may be that we don't see any changes until the feature Stefan mentioned where we will support direct saving of the changes to the attachment in the new PDF-X Editor.
