Dear PDF-Viewer team,
I'm currently using version 2.5.111 of the PDF XChange Viewer on my Windows-7(64) machine. There seems to be a display problem with straight lines for some PDF files. I usually create such PDF files with the Adobe Acrobat software from a PowerPoint presentation, and viewing them in the Acorbat Reader, everything is perfect. However, viewing them in the PDF-XChange viewer, most straight lines are only displayed with 1 pixel width, although their size is 2 or 3 pixel.
In the atachment, you find a PDF file and some screenshots that demonstrate the problem. A bug ?
Regards,
Michael

Hi Michael,
Have you tried our Editor. It displays both the lines and the brackets correctly:

Well that's nice, but if I report a bug, getting an answer like "please use another software and pay for that" is not really the thing I'd like to hear, is it?Tracker Supp-Stefan wrote:Hi Michael,

It would be nice if you fix it in the viewer, that's the reason I report it to you. Would you mind do that?

Michael

Re: Display problems with straight lines
Hi Michael,
Apologies if my reply sounded like "buy another product"!!!
I really didn't have that in mind!
In fact the Editor is the successor of the Viewer, and you could count it as e.g. Viewer V3. If you have a Viewer license - it will work for the current Editor build as well, and if you have valid maintenance on that Viewer license - you will get a free upgrade to an Editor license within a few weeks when we start selling it.
Regards,
Stefan

Re: Display problems with straight lines
Hello Stefan,
I tested the Editor, and it is showing the lines correctly as you told me. However, I cannot find a way to activate the fullscreen/presentation mode in the Editor for an opened document. There seems to be a way by setting the default document properties to "fullscreen", but this is not really a solution. And without a proper presentation mode, the software is useless for me to give presentations based on PDF files.
So the viewer supports giving presentations but does not display the pages correctly. And the editor displays them correctly but does not support presentations out-of-the-box. Wierd...

Michael

Re: Display problems with straight lines
Hi Michael,
The Editor is quite new, and not all of the features available in the Viewer have been ported to the Editor. We focused on the new things like content editing at first, but now are also working on integrating all Viewer features in the Editor. So in a few builds presentation mode and full screen view should be available in the Editor.
In the mean time you might e.g. "reprint" the problematic files using the Editor and our printing drivers, and then the new "printout" should be displaying properly in the Viewer as well. I know this is a convoluted workaround but should work until we add presentation mode to the Editor.
Regards,
Stefan
